This is a truly unique western ranch-style lodging experience for families or groups from 2 to 6 people. You’ll be the only guests on the Sedona area’s only working cattle ranch that hosts guests, because…

- Special Needs can sometimes be accommodated, but must be discussed when you make your reservation. This includes those on “the Spctrum”
- ALL RIDERS must be able to mount and dismount with minimal assistance, and maintain balance, control the horse and follow directions during the ride.
- We reserve the right to REFUSE service when we feel we cannot do so SAFELY
- Duration: 3 Hours (one-hour trail ride, two-hour cookout in Verde Valley)
Evening Verde Valley Horseback Riding Adventure
The evening Ranch Rendezvous starts with a one-hour Verde Valley trail ride for ages seven and up, and then a wagon ride pulled by our Percheron draft horse team, Ben and Junior, to The Sedona Lookout, our all-weather cookout site with spectacular 360-degree views of Sedona, the Verde Valley, and the Mogollon Rim. Enjoy our spectacular sunsets and even see the lights of Jerome floating in the sky. The Sedona Lookout is a covered ramada for outdoor patio dining, so please dress accordingly. In the winter, it is partially enclosed and has patio heaters.
At the cookout, sing along with Alvie Self, a member of both the Western Swing and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, and his acoustic guitar and fiddle. He sings some cowboy songs and plays your requests… unless they are so-called “New Country!” Alvie is definitely old school and has been playing and singing at our evening cookouts for more than 10 years. Our guests love him (so do we!).
You spend a total of about three hours as our guest for the Arizona trail ride and cookout, enjoying delicious food in a casual atmosphere with room for your kids to roam.
AFTER THE COOKOUT, why not trade in city lights for star gazing on your private patio when you stay in our GUEST HOUSE? See the Lodging page for more information.
Evening Ranch Rendezvous cookout menu
The menu features mesquite grilled steak, cut and bought locally the day it is served, with cowboy beans, corn on the cob, grilled peppers, salad, and peach cobbler, all accompanied by iced tea, lemonade, and water (you are welcome to BYOB). You can request salmon or a veggie burger instead of steak, and regular hamburgers are also available. Steaks are cooked to order, and menu choices are made with your reservations. Please do also tell us of any food allergies or dietary needs when you make your reservation.
For those people in your party who aren’t going to go on the horseback ride (kids under seven, grandparents, and others) we offer a Dinner Only option. If members of your group do not want to ride, they can enjoy the rest of the evening with you. They meet up with you after the trail ride and join you on the wagon ride to dinner so you can all enjoy a great meal and entertainment together.
